Are you over 55 years of age and interested in Chinese music? If so, our Seniors Music Learning Program is just for you! Sponsored by the government of Ontario, the program is free of charge and will take place from December 6th, 2021 to February 26th, 2022, where you will learn to play a Chinese instrument of your interest and participate in a memorable performance together. Taught by professional musicians, classes will be held twice a week virtually in small groups, and the offered instruments and class schedules are as follows:
Erhu
Class A: Mondays and Thursdays 11:00am – 12:00pm (for experienced players)
Class B: Tuesdays 7:30pm – 8:30pm, Saturdays 10:30am – 11:30am (for beginners)
Guzheng
Class A: Tuesdays and Fridays 10am – 11am (for beginners)
Class B: Tuesdays and Fridays 2pm – 3pm (for experienced players)
Pipa
Class schedule: Mondays and Thursdays 7:30pm – 8:30pm
Zhongruan
Class schedule: Tuesdays 7:30pm – 8:30pm and Saturdays 11am – 12pm
Yangqin
Class schedule: Tuesdays 2pm – 3pm and Fridays 10am – 11am
Hulusi
Class schedule: Wednesdays 8pm – 9pm and Saturdays 3pm – 4pm
If you do not have an instrument, we will provide you with one free of charge for the duration of the program. Spaces are limited to 50 participants.
