Musical Golden Era
In honour of the holiday season, the Canadian Chinese Orchestra is excited to present The Musical Golden Era, a lovely musical night filled with various pop tune performances, complimentary treats, and a cheerful spirit! This concert will take place on Monday, December 12 7:30pm at The Salvation Army Agincourt Church with a pay-what-you-can admission system. All friends and family are welcome to join to take on a wonderful opportunity to learn about Chinese instruments and orchestral music through familiar pop tunes! A few of our program highlights include Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean, Coldplay’s Viva La Vida, the famous dizi track from the drama Untamed, and some lovely Christmas medleys to celebrate the holiday season! Online Seniors Music Learning Program
Sign Up online Welcome to the CCO Online Seniors Music Learning Program! With our previously successful experience offering online music programs to seniors, we are pleased to bring this program back with help of a private donor! This program is only offered for beginner to intermediate level senior music learners 55 years of age and up. Each individual can enroll in the program for a maximum of 2 years (4 terms). This program will be based on a first come first serve basis when registration begins. We will place you on a waiting list if the class registration is full. The program fee is $150 for one term (15 classes) and $300 for full year two terms (30 classes).This 2022-2023 season, we will offer 4 different instrument learning classes: Erhu, Guzheng, Pipa, and Yangqin. If you play a Chinese instrument and have a passion for promoting Chinese music and culture, apply to be part of a team of brilliant musicians and perform innovative and unique pieces at prestigious venues! Chinese Music Camp 2022 中樂文化夏令營 The Canadian Chinese Orchestra is pleased to present to you the Chinese Music Summer In Class Program, in collaboration with Yip’s Canada. This is a perfect opportunity for your child to explore Chinese music and culture this summer. This program is built upon creating a strong foundation for musicianship to start or enhance your child’s music learning journey—they will be doing hands-on learning to explore a few popular Chinese traditional instruments (Erhu, Guzheng, Zhongruan and Flower Pot Drum). Participants will also be able to engage in a variety of community-building activities to enrich their appreciation for Chinese culture, including Chinese folk dance and arts, Chinese music theory, and many practice sessions! Sound Resonance 樂 . 声 | Canadian Chinese Orchestra
Tickets This summer, join the Canadian Chinese Orchestra (CCO) as its members present an afternoon concert Sound Resonance 樂 . 声 on June 26th, 2022 at 5:00pm! Led by guest conductor Joanna Ng D’Agnone, this will be the first in-person concert since 2020. In this concert, there will be orchestral works, small ensemble performances, as well as solo pieces by soloists Lina Cao (Guzheng), Lipeng Wu (Dizi), Huiming Li (Guanzi), Bill Ng (Cello) and Lilian Yang (Pipa). CCO is excited to present to you a variety of music repertoires in collaboration with the Ontario Cross-cultural Music Society Choir (OCMS Choir). Joanna Ng D’Agnone holds a master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting (Northern Illinois University) and a Bachelor of Piano Performance (Queen's University). The Epiphany | Canadian Chinese Orchestra
To celebrate the New Year of the Tiger, the Canadian Chinese Orchestra presents to you The Epiphany, our seasonal concert to be held on Saturday, February 26th, 2022, at 7:30pm EST! Streamed live on Youtube, the concert will feature a vibrant selection of performances by the Canadian Chinese Orchestra, the Millennium Chinese Music Workshop, and a showcase of the students in the Seniors Music Learning Program funded by the Government of Ontario.
